Mike Dixon biathlon courses, 2010

I've just been sent details of Mike Dixon's August / September biathlon courses.

Mike is a biathlon legend: 6-time Olympian, Eurosport biathlon commentator, founder of the Cairngorm Biathlon & Nordic Ski Club and generally great guy. I couldn't recommend this course highly enough, he's a great inspiration and gets people motivated like no-one else -

"I will be running 4 biathlon coaching courses in Aug and September. Courses will be restricted to 6 participants per course. The courses will be based at Glenmore Lodge near Aviemore, using the Glenmore shooting range and rollerski tracks. Each day will generally start at 9am, finishing at 5pm, with a 1.5hrs lunchbreak. I would like to stage a short race at the end of the camp on rollerskis with shooting (rifles remaining on range) which will give a good fun feel for the incredible sport of Biathlon. For those not so confident on rollerskis I can stage a short running Biathlon. I will be including some technique video analysis, hill walking / jogging as well as rollerskiing, and and some Gym work.

Course cost is £325 per person for the August four day courses and £244 for the three day course in Sept. This includes all ammunition, rifles, range hire, insurance, tea / coffee breaks provided, lodge video room and coaching. I can arrange collection from Inverness if required, for fuel costs. Edinburgh airport is around 2hrs drive time away.

I'm happy to assist with recommendations for accommodation should anyone need. I would recommend Glenmore Lodge as it is reasonably priced and very convenient being onsite. It's been a couple of years since I last ran my own courses so I'm thoroughly looking forward to this years series. I will send a more detailed programme for the first 4 day course closer to the time.
