2010/11 Equipment review

Here's the lowdown on our equipment this season -

BOOTS

Salomon's 2011 Pro Combi Pilot boots and RC Carbon Classic boots are new / updated this season, and we already rate them highly for their quality of construction, comfort and performance. They feature Salomon's new black and white racing colours and are lighter than outgoing models. We are much better stocked with boots than last season, to meet orders more quickly and efficiently. See - http://rollerski.co.uk/buyboots.html

BINDINGS

Following their successful introduction at the Vancouver Olympics, we now have Salomon's new 'Propulse' classic bindings in stock. These have been developed to be simpler and lighter than previous classic bindings, and are compatable with all Salomon Pilot boots. They also look good with Salomon's new boots. See - http://rollerski.co.uk/propulse.html

Marwe can now supply their rollerskis with the 'Nordic Integrated System', for anyone wanting to use Rottefella / Alpina R4 bindings. This means bindings are easier to replace or change positioning. For all bindings, see - http://rollerski.co.uk/buybindings.html

ROLLERSKIS

We continue to selectively expand our range of rollerskis. Swenor have recently introduced their 'Alutech' rollerski, which we rate highly for its stability, making it a very good choice for classic beginners, especially on smooth tarmac. This year we add new brand SRB to our lineup. SRB is an innovative German company, and they produce one of the smoothest-running conventional skating rollerskis, the SR01. This ski is popular with the German and Austria biathletes, and uses rubbers developed for aircraft wheels, which are very good at absorbing vibrations. We continue to sell the proven Marwe rollerskis and the excellent Skirollo Diablo multi-terrain skating rollerski. You can see our entire rollerski range at - http://rollerski.co.uk/buyrollerskis.html

PACKAGES

Our rollerski packages are as popular as ever, and remain extremely good value. Our basic packages can be upgraded with better poles or boots, allowing you more options while still getting a good deal. We have recently invested in high-quality double thickness cardboard packaging, to ensure that orders reach you in even better condition. See - http://rollerski.co.uk/buypackages.html

ACCESSORIES

For the Autumn we have added stylish Craft High Visility jackets. Also new this year is a great rollerski / cross-country ski technique DVD from the US. We continue to offer padding and protection, bags, etc. We'll add to our accessories lineup as the season progresses, see - http://rollerski.co.uk/buyaccesories.html

POLES

The main development for 2010 has been the KV+ Silent Tip, which reduces vibrations in rollerski poling. This is a premium product, as it is not yet produced in vast quantities, but makes gentle poling a more 'snow like' experience. See - http://rollerski.co.uk/buypoles.html

OVERSEAS ORDERS

An increasing number of our orders go to overseas customers. So far this year we have sent equipment to, among other countries, Denmark, Australia, USA, Canada, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, France, Germany, Israel, Greece, Ireland, Russia, Norway, Sweden and Finland! Being in Europe, we are close to the main centres of design and production for rollerski and cross-country ski equipment. And London is at the heart of the world's logistics networks, giving us fast and competitively priced couriers to anywhere on the globe. We occasionally despatch orders to Australia and North America on Friday, which are out for delivery locally on Monday morning.

    CROSS-COUNTRY SKIS

The big departure for us this season is cross-country skis. For the first time we will stock skating, classic and classic fishscale cross-country skis from Salomon. These will be available from October. We will stock the Salomon Equipe 9 range and will offer the Salomon Equipe 10 range on a pre-order basis.
