Rollerski race entry, Autumn 2013 This September / October there are 3 excellent races in London and Castle Combe which we'll be entering a team for. Details and entry are below - 1. Double Pursuit - Hillingdon Cycle Circuit - Sunday 22nd September This is 7.5k classic technique, followed by 7.5k skate technique (4.5k / 4.5k option for juniors / novices). A lot of people will double pole most of the classic section, as the course is relatively flat. It's worth practicing taking skis on and off for the transition section. 2. Individual & Team Sprints - Castle Combe - Sunday 29th September This is on the very flat Castle Combe car racing circuit in Wiltshire. The individual race is 3 laps (of 3k) for men, 2 laps for women and 1 lap for youths. Matched skis are provided by the organisers, so everyone goes at the same speed. The relay race is 4x3k for men and 3x3k for women. Advanced booking is mandatory, as they need to ensure they have enough matched rollerskis. Our club has done very well in these races in the past, and we have often taken individual and team honours against the best clubs in the UK, including the Army. 3. 4-hour Endurance Race - Hillingdon Cycle Circuit - Saturday 19th October This is a great test of endurance. Laps are counted by the organisers, the aim is to do as many laps as possible over the course of 4 hours. Organised by the LRNSC. Hillingdon Cycle Circuit Map - Post Code UB4 0LP Enter
All are welcome to take part in these races, which will make you a better skier whatever your level of skiing. Booking in advance offers a discount and helps the race organisers.
