Outdoor Fitness magazine, Feb / March 2012
New magazine, Outdoor Fitness, has a good article on rollerskiing, and cross-country skiing with the Royal Marines. (It even mentions our roller skiing in Hyde Park). Here's what they write -
'In fitness terms, roller skiing is directly comparable with cross-country skiing on snow. It uses all the major muscle groups for a full-body workout, with an option to increase the upper-body workload by using the poles more. This makes roller skiing at least comparable with sports such as running, swimming or rowing in terms of developing aerobic capacity, if not better. Lots of aerobic exercise means lots of calories burned, so it's also a great sport for keeping lean.'
