Rollerski Club - Head Coach appointed

Mantas Strolia took up the role of 'Head Coach' of our Hyde Park training group last Saturday.

Mantas said - 'I want the club sessions to be enjoyable, that is most important. But we must work so everyone will improve - both technique and fitness.'

Mantas is a qualified teacher, and works part time as a supply teacher in the Home Counties. But coaching rollerskiing / cross-country ski is his passion, and he brings a lot of expertise and experience from his skiing career, which culminated in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

Iain said - 'Mantas joined the team in January 2011, and has worked very hard teaching beginners in Hyde Park and Dorney Lake. He has built up a large number of private clients, with whom he trains regularly, and has organised a Summer rollerski trip back to his home country of Lithuania. He has also brought rollerskiing into 2 schools and an Army team.'

'Having launched and managed our 'Team Dorney' initiative, he has successfully motivated the group to train hard during the sessions, and at home. His relentless energy and experience will help to move the Hyde Park group forward.'
