News - 26/3/13 April sees the return of rollerskiing to Richmond Park, as part of a new multi-sport organisation, the 'Outdoor Fitness Collective'. The OFC offers many different activities to its members, including rollerskiing, paddle boarding, circuit training, kayaking and strength training. All activities take place outdoors, in and around Richmond Park, the Thames and South West London. The founder is entrepreneur Jonathan Bramley, who lives in Sheen, and is a fitness fanatic who wants to bring different sports into the lives of South West Londoners. He has signed up a number of established providers of activities, who will offer sessions under the 'OFC' banner. Richmond Park is excellent for rollerskiing - it has smooth tarmac, with many miles to explore. During the day there are paths across the middle of the park which are good for rollerskiing, and after dark the whole 10k circular road is available to us, when the cars leave. All our scheduled sessions in Richmond Park will take place through the OFC, and you can sign up here - http://www.outdoorfitnesscollective.co.uk/ We'd thoroughly recommend getting involved. Especially in the Spring / Summer, all cross-country skiers do a variety of cross-training, and mix this in with training on rollerskis. Kayaking, mountain biking and of course strength training are all very important. Our first rollerski session will be at 7PM on Tuesday 8th April. The meeting point is Sheen Gate, Sheen Lane, see map. Pre booking, through the OFC website is essential.
