Profile: Posy Name: Posy - aka Rosamund - Musgrave From: Huntly, Aberdeenshire. Occupation: in 2009-10 and 2010-11 competed full time on the GB Cross-Country Ski Team. (See FIS biography). consistently among the top three female British skiers. GB team biography Education: degree from the University of Birmingham in European Studies and Modern Languages (French and Russian), 2009. Now studying for an MA in Applied Translation Studies at London Metropolitan University. Successes: At the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Posy became GB's best ever female cross-country skier, finishing 7.39% behind the winner in the Sprint and raniking 42nd of 67 finishers. Posy was also 2010 and 2011 British Cross-Country Ski Champion in the 10k Classic race. Numerous GB junior titles. Background: BASI qualified ski instructor, who, as an athlete, has come the whole way through the GB club, development and national team system. She is part of GB's 'Golden Generation' of young cross-country ski racers, which includes her younger brother Andrew. Instructing in London: occasional coach for our club in London's Hyde Park, and for beginners and Level 2 skiers at Dorney Lake and Redbridge. Achille's heel: Posy may be a great skier, but she is not the best shot! In the 7.5k biathlon sprint at the 2011 British Biathlon Championships she missed an amazing 10 out of 10 targets, but still managed to finish 7th / 31 starters! (See here). |
